Contact you business banker. Ask for their recommendation on point of sale terminal. They should have a list of providers. You won’t pay for the terminal, but you will have a transaction fee of about 2%.
Depending on your monthly sales, you can choose for something like authorize.net (you’ll pay like $25 a month), plus transaction fees 2.x %, plus $0.25 per trans.
Or go with pay $49 one time set up fee, and 5.5% on each transaction.
Paypal also has virtual terminal and other options.

good decision! accepting credit cards does improve cashflow.
As for your question…
there are in fact, some merchant account providers who give out free terminals. Just be wary of the other fees (to compensate for the free terminal), or you can just wait for your potential provider for a signing up promo.
