Merchant Services for online website?

I need guidance please! I am starting a small services website that will grow as clients request my service, I will need to accept credit-card and possibly also payments from bank accounts, I was rejected by 2 banks for merchant services because I did not meet their underwriting credit criteria, is there any alternative companies that provide merchant services that are trusthworthy and wont rip me off? I had a bad experience with paypal since they have a lot of nonsense rules that basically gives you no right to control your payments that come in, my website will be legitimate and everything done by the rules. please advise
